My groups mural is a cross with different people standing around it. There is a road that leads to the cross and one that leads to destruction. On the top of the cross, there is a heart with a wifi symbol over it. This mural symbolizes there are different paths you can take in life. One leads to destruction, but the other leads to salvation. If you stray off that path, you can always come back though. God accepts everyone, no matter what you've done or what culture you've come from. Also, God's love connects with all of his people. I chose this theme, because I'm a christian and I want to help bring more people to Jesus. This mural shows that anyone can be saved, and I believe it can encourage a lot people.
It was my idea to use cross conturing to make the cross. We used the strips of tape and tried to align them up as best as we could. We used the people to demonstrate character. They are all the same, but with something a little unique in each of them. The roads in the mural show direction. One road directs us to the cross. Two branch out from that main road. One leads back to the cross, the other to destruction. The hair on the peoples heads indicate texture. We didn't actually plan for the people to have hair, but Nia started giving them hair so I helped. We crinkled the tape for an afro, cut strips of it for straight hair, and folded and unfolded the tape to make wavy hair.
